In 2025, Ukrainians may face rising prices for electricity and natural gas. Deputy Director of the Association of Energy and Natural Resources of Ukraine Andriy Zakrevsky said this on the air of the Espresso TV channel.<\/p>\n
According to him, a protracted increase in prices is already inevitable:<\/p>\n
“We should expect an increase in electricity prices this year, which has been delayed for a long time. And gas also.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Zakrevsky emphasized that the state should step up its efforts now, in particular, resolve problematic issues in the extractive sector and take up imports. At the same time, he believes that the solution to many problems could be a transition to an open market:<\/p>\n
“We just need to move to an open market. People are not idiots, they see the difference in price. We just need to give them the opportunity to trade calmly.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The expert also called for allowing private companies to export gas and freely connect to power grids. According to his estimates, Ukraine continues to have an established capacity deficit of about 4 GW, although consumers are gradually adapting to the new realities.<\/p>\n
According to experts, the cost of one kilowatt-hour for household consumers may increase to EUR 0.15<\/strong>, and over the next few years – even to EUR 0.20 kWh<\/strong>. At the same time, natural gas is expected to become more expensive.<\/p>\n
Alternative – own generation<\/h3>\n
Against the backdrop of rising tariffs and instability of the energy system, solar energy is considered one of the effective ways to provide oneself with electricity at a fixed cost.
